FAQ

Below you’ll find answers to common questions about the love, martin process. If you’re unsure about anything, simply submit a request — we’ll guide you personally.

  • We work primarily with children’s drawings, handwriting, and meaningful symbols on selected garments and textile pieces.

Each request is reviewed individually. Not every garment or every drawing is suitable — and part of our work is to curate what will translate beautifully into embroidery.

  • Each drawing is reviewed and translated with great care. Sometimes it can be embroidered exactly as it is. Sometimes small editorial refinements are necessary so the piece works beautifully in thread.

This is part of our curatorial process and is always decided before anything goes into production.

  • We do.

Placement, scale, and overall composition are part of our curatorial work. We study the garment and the drawing and decide what works best aesthetically and technically.

You will always see and approve the proposal before production begins.

  • Every request goes through a careful review process.

We evaluate the garment, the drawing, and the technical feasibility. If the piece is suitable, we propose an approach (placement, scale, and translation). Only after your approval does the piece go into production.

  • Not every piece can or should be embroidered.

If a garment or drawing is not suitable, we will tell you honestly. In some cases we may suggest an alternative approach. In others, we may recommend not proceeding.

If we find that a garment is not suitable for embroidery due to its fabric, construction, or condition, we will inform you before any work begins. In this case, no fee will be charged. Return shipping costs are borne by the client.

  • Final pricing is always confirmed after we have reviewed and curated your request.

  • Timelines vary depending on complexity and current workload. After review, we confirm an estimated timeline before anything begins.

If you have a specific deadline, you can include it in your request.

  • Each piece is prepared and embroidered by specialist artisan partners in regions with a long tradition of embroidery craftsmanship.

This is, quite literally, the motherland of embroidery — where this craft has been practiced, refined, and passed down for generations.

Your piece is then carefully reviewed before it is returned to you.

  • Sometimes. Suitability depends on fabric, structure, age, and condition of the garment.

This is part of what we assess during the review process.

  • That is often exactly what makes it special.

We are not looking for perfection. We are looking for meaning. We will decide what can be translated beautifully into embroidery.

  • Because each piece is curated and made specifically for you, we cannot accept returns once production has begun.

All details are reviewed and approved before any work starts.
